West Valley Hospital Appoints New Chief Nursing Officer

Lisa Smith, R.N., BSN was recently appointed Chief Nursing Officer of West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, Arizona. Smith comes to West Valley Hospital from HCA Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Florida where she served as chief nursing officer and was responsible for the nursing operations of the 105-bed facility. She served HCA for 16 years in various administrative roles in several of their facilities.

As chief nursing officer of West Valley Hospital, a 74-bed acute care community hospital, Smith will have administrative direction over the emergency department, surgical services, critical care, medical- surgical, women's services and cardiovascular service lines.

Throughout her career as a manager/administrator, she has overseen the areas of nursing, surgical services, cardiopulmonary services, and education, and also successfully lead JCAHO and other regulatory accreditation processes, including the performance improvement efforts at Raulerson Hospital, which included monitoring, maintaining and improving patient and employee satisfaction.

Smith has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salisbury State University in Maryland.

West Valley Hospital Medical Center is a 74-bed, acute care facility in Goodyear, Arizona focused on bringing comprehensive healthcare services to the Southwest Valley and designed to provide services of greatest need to the community, from state-of-the-art obstetrics, to medical and surgical services, cardiology, intensive care and a full-service emergency department.
