Tanya Field
Chief Operating Officer and Interim Executive Officer

Tanya Field has been named Chief Operating Officer of West Valley Hospital, an affiliate of Abrazo Health Care, located in Goodyear, Arizona.

Field is a former employee of Vanguard Health Systems, parent company of Abrazo Health Care and returns to Vanguard after one year with St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA where she was the chief operating officer and interim president. At St. Mary, Field was responsible for administrative oversight for all hospital and health venture functions.

Her experience in the healthcare industry spans over two decades and covers a broad range of clinical areas as well as high-level operations. She has worked for several prominent hospitals and has been successful on many levels in strategic development, operational effectiveness and financial growth.

Throughout her career in healthcare she has also performed many other roles, including staff nurse, management process improvement, healthcare consultant and chief nursing officer.

Field obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida and also holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Lisa G. Smith, R.N.
Chief Nursing Officer

Lisa G. Smith, R.N., BSN joined the West Valley Hospital administrative team in January 2004 as chief nursing officer. Smith comes to West Valley Hospital from HCA Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Florida where she served as chief nursing officer and was responsible for the nursing operations of the 105-bed facility. She served HCA for 16 years in various administrative roles in several of their facilities.

As chief nursing officer of West Valley Hospital, a 74-bed acute care community hospital, Smith will have administrative direction over the emergency department, surgical services, critical care, medical- surgical, women's services and cardiovascular service lines.

Throughout her career as a manager/administrator, she has overseen the areas of nursing, surgical services, cardiopulmonary services, and education, and also successfully lead JCAHO and other regulatory accreditation processes, including the performance improvement efforts at Raulerson Hospital, which included monitoring, maintaining and improving patient and employee satisfaction.

Smith has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salisbury State University in Maryland.
