West Valley Hospital Hosted Second Annual 'Have a Heart' Golf Tournament

West Valley Hospital held its second annual "Have a Heart" Golf Tournament at the Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa on September 22. Over 144 golfers participated and vied for First, Second and Third place trophies. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the American Heart Association.
"West Valley Hospital is proud to support the important work that the American Heart Association does in educating the public about heart health. Due to the instance of heart disease is increasing, West Valley Hospital's cardiovascular program continues to grow to meet the needs of the West Valley community," said Jim Resendez, CEO of West Valley Hospital.
The American Heart Association was chosen as the charity of choice again this year to raise awareness of heart disease and West Valley Hospital's cardiovascular program. The hospital continues to grow the program through their current expansion project which will add an additional catheterization lab and operating rooms in order to care for the community.
According to the American Heart Association statistics, 1.2 million people will have a new or reoccurring coronary attack this year. Heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death for women in the United States, with more than 500,000 women dying each year.
