Phil Gustafson Joins West Valley Hospital as Chief Executive Officer

Goodyear, Ariz. (December 5, 2007) ? Phil Gustafson, a veteran health care executive, has joined West Valley Hospital as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).?
Gustafson most recently served as CEO of Northwest Health System, which includes two hospitals, a surgery center and three urgent care centers in southern Arizona.? Under his leadership, Northwest Medical Center developed a core measures improvement plan that put it in the top 10 percent of U.S. hospitals.

Gustafson?s former positions included: CEO of Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska; CEO of San Ramon Regional Medical Center in Northern California; Associate Executive Director of Seattle?s Children?s Hospital and Medical Center and Assistant Administrator at St. Louis? Children?s Hospital.
Gustafson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from MacMurray College, a Master of Science degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Health Administration from Washington University.
